Which Agent Should a Beginner Pick? Five of the Easiest to Learn

Five beginner-friendly agents

  • Phoenix (Duelist): a self-sufficient kit with a wall that heals him — very forgiving, the pick for anyone working on aim
  • Sage (Sentinel): a wall to block, heals for teammates and a revive that flips rounds — always welcome in a group
  • Cypher (Sentinel): cameras watch the flank, tripwires lock the back door — passive, reliable defense
  • Sova (Initiator): recon arrows read the whole map; a beginner who places arrows well is already contributing
  • Jett (Duelist): the most mobile and the highest ceiling, but she needs aim to pay off

Pick by personality

  • Want to take fights: Phoenix, Jett
  • Want to win steadily: Cypher, Sage
  • Want to be the team's brain: Sova

A note on roles

A sound composition runs 1 Duelist + 1 Initiator + 1 Controller + 1-2 Sentinels. Early on, do not worry about filling gaps — master one agent first, then branch out.

When someone asks what you play, «I'm a good Sage» always beats «I play a bit of everything».
