Step one: counter-strafe
Shooting while moving scatters your bullets. In the range, strafe left and right, release the key suddenly, then fire — feel the stop-then-shoot rhythm. Every duel is a loop of stop-shoot-stop-shoot.
Step two: the head line
Keep your crosshair at the height where heads appear. Hold corners pre-aimed rather than flicking up after you see someone. The habit: your crosshair never drops.
Step three: recoil control
- Vandal: the first five shots are nearly a straight line, then it drifts up and right — pull down and left
- Phantom: straighter overall, less correction needed
A 15-minute daily plan
- 100 headshots on range bots (helmets off)
- One Deathmatch, main rifle only
- Three wall sprays to memorise the pattern
Common errors
- Sensitivity too high to track: lower it; turning slowly is fine
- Crouch addiction: crouching just makes you a shorter target. Counter-strafing is the answer
Aim is not talent — it is repetition. Ten thousand clean stops turns it into muscle memory.
