Why Omen suits beginners
His smokes can be placed anywhere on the map — no need to stand at the point and throw — and his teleport (E) repositions him quietly. You never have to learn a lineup: if you can read the minimap, you can smoke.
Three rules for smokes
- A smoke cuts a lane, it does not block a path — cover the window where the enemy can shoot you
- On attack, smoke where you plan to hit; on defense, smoke the corridor they must cross
- Smokes expire — time your entry for just before they fade, and have someone ready to trade
Using the teleport
- Rotate: little pressure on A, teleport to reinforce B; when they hit A you are already set
- Escape: after a skirmish, teleport to the back to save a gun
- Never teleport into an open area with no vision — it makes a sound and you land as a target
Playing with your team
Call before you use Dark Cover, your ultimate: the nearsight plus focus fire is worth double. Firing it solo and blind just wastes 7 points.
A Controller's KDA often looks bad, but every lane you cut correctly is one more chance your team survives.
