The core: soul orbs
Killing an enemy, or dealing fatal damage before the kill, drops a soul orb that lasts only 3 seconds:
- Devour (Q): heals over time and can over-heal past 100 to roughly 50 points of decaying armor — winning a pistol fight is nearly a free half-armor
- Dismiss (E): brief invulnerability and a speed boost. Use it right after a kill to leave before the trade
The key decision: heal or leave?
Check whether a second gun is on you. Likely: Dismiss out. Safe: Devour to keep pressure. Devour needs line of sight to the orb, so healing behind a wall breaks it, and the flowing health bar gives your position away.
Using Leer (C)
- Throw through walls: it casts through cover, so you never expose yourself
- Place it in front of the enemy, not beside them, so they must either shoot it (crosshair off the head line) or be blinded
- Vary the height, floor or high, to break their pre-aim
- Note: it does not blind teammates, so the whole team can push behind it
Empress (X)
Fire rate, reload and movement speed all rise; a kill refreshes the duration; Devour costs nothing and Dismiss is fully invisible. With the speed boost, the Vandal is often the better pick over the Phantom.
Weaknesses
Reyna has no team utility, so she loses value when information is scarce. She fears KAY/O's Suppression, which blocks Dismiss, and Breach's flashes and stuns. A strong solo carry at low rank; at high rank she needs teammates feeding her information.
